We believe everyone is creative, everyone has a story to tell, and everyone can be shown the skills used by professional authors. Located at 23 Princes St on beautiful Albert Park in Auckland, and 150 Cuba St in Wellington, we offer a vibrant atmosphere in which to learn these skills and have fun. Our courses are also ONLINE.

Our tutors include many well-known authors, including Tessa Duder, Roger Hall, Fiona Sussman, Eileen Merriman and Elizabeth Smither. Several of our tutors have won the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement.

Have a go! This six week course is intended to introduce you to the skills and techniques that make story-telling so enjoyable. Available ONLINE and in classroom. Classroom course transfers to Zoom during lockdowns. You might already keep a journal, or have written some poetry or short stories, but would like to discover the tools professional writers use to make their work publishable.

30 Week Fiction/Memoir Course

This course is for those who want to write a novel, short stories, or a memoir / autobiography. We provide a fun and stimulating environment in which you can discover your authentic writing voice. Many graduates of this course have published books, some in London
and New York.

Auckland

Auckland Teaching Room

23 Princes St, Auckland CBD. There is free parking from ten to 6pm on Princes St. There are parking buildings nearby at 71 Shortland St, and 30 Kitchener St. We are a ten minute walk from Britomart, and from the main harbour ferry terminals.

Wellington

Wellington Teaching Room

150 Cuba Street, 6th floor (Goethe Institute), entrance Garrett Street. Bus stop is Manners St at Cuba St, walk up Cuba St, entrance on Garrett St. There is plenty of parking on Cuba St or Marion St.
